Description:

Talented and well-known artist Rinat Yunusov is responsible for a series of works dedicated to the Moscow Kremlin, Red Square and other very popular sightseeing of Russian Capital.
Rinat Yunusov is a professional painter, several years ago he has moved to live from Moscow to a town of Ufa, Tatarstan (Russia).
On this box an artist has painted a picturesque view of the Pokrovsky Cathedral (better known as the St. Basil's Cathedral) on a Red Square. The Cathedral, which was commissioned by Ivan IV (also known as Ivan the Terrible) in Moscow to commemorate the capture of the Khanate of Kazan. In 1588 Tsar Fedor Ivanovich had a chapel added on the eastern side above the grave of Basil Fool for Christ (yurodivy Vassily Blazhenny), a Russian Orthodox saint after whom the cathedral was popularly named.
A wide range of bright oils has been used by the artist to paint this work. Gold paint highlights the pavement, the cupolas of the St.Basil's Cathedral and some trees. The correctness of drawing gives exceptional depth!
On a far away perspective we also can see the shapes of the famous Stalin's sky-scrapers. The artist painted Moscow very realistic!
The box's exterior imitates the coloring of a green stone (turquoise blurry spots are scattered against the black lacquered surface), while the interior is traditionally red.
The box is made out of paper-mache. The lid is not hinged and the box rests on three legs. Signed with the artist's name, and the title ("Moscow 2008. Pokrovskiy Cathedral ").
