Rogatov Vladimir is known and talented Fedoskino artist, who has painted this interesting five-sided casket. Rogatov is skilled and experienced in painting technique as it is a very complicated task to reproduce realistically a visual appearance of any person, the surrounding objects and architecture.
Here the artist has painted several scenes from the watch repair Workshops. On the lid we can a watch master who put a watch to his ear and listen to it's work/ticking.
On the front side we see the moment when a wealthy gentleman in a top hat brought his watch for diagnosis. He leaned towards the watchmaker and quickly wants to find out the reason for the incorrect operation or stopping of his favorite watch.
On the right and left sides of the casket we can see still lifes, scenes with clocks and watches on the walls or tables.
On the back side of the casket we can a scene from the watch repair Workshops. The three masters are working at their own tables, trying to fix the brocken watch or clocks.
The paintings on each side and the lid are framed with the gold lines.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior of the bottom and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The rest of the box is painted brown, the same base tone of the whole casket.
The casket has a hinge from the top of the painting on the lid. And it and rests on four legs. The box is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and 2017.
