This peaceful landscape was painted by Kozlov from the village of Fedoskino. It's early morning and the rising sun throws its golden rays on the meadow. The trees depicted on the background are barely seen because of the dense fog.
Different shades of green are used to paint this landscape. Aluminum paint is used to paint the sky and the fog, whereas gold powder is used to paint the meadow illuminated with the golden rays of the raising sun.
This typical Russian landscape looks very realistically that is the evidence of artist's talent and his mastery in the lacquer art.
The box is constructed from paper-mache made in the village of Fedoskino. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the work.
