Known for her interesting boxes decorated with three-dimensional elements, Karina Kersilyan of Fedoskino takes her art a step further by making the entire piece more a sculpture than a box!
This interesting box shows the chipmunk sitting on the old stub covered with timber funguses. Combining her skill for crafting unique objects with her talent for painting, Karina makes this work, complete with mushrooms, carved sticks and roots, and the green fern. What's more surprising is that the top section of the stub opens on a hinge to reveal a small square compartment--a box after all! The work is signed with the artist's first name “Karina”.
