This small box is a creation of T. Volodina from the village of Fedoskino. It features the clown giving a small concert. Mother-of-pearl shines through his top hat, and through his goffered collar. Gold metal leaf details his hat and collar, and also shines through the signs of sheet music scattered throughout the composition. The clown is painted in bright oils against the light green background.
The light green tone has been also chosen to cover the box's exterior but this light green area is supplemented with green blurry spots of a darker tone. The box's interior is traditionally red. On the box's sides the artist has painted multicolored balloons, and signs of sheet music shimmering with gold metal leaf inlay.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. It has a hinge from the top of the composition and rests on a flat bottom. The Fedoskino "troika" insignia can be found on the interior of the lid. The box is signed with the artist's name, the village, the title ("Clown") and the year (2006).
