Igor Dunaev is the author of this thrilling summer landscape. In this work the artist extols the beauty of Russian countryside at summer. It's calm. Fresh green grass is covered with the morning haze. The winding river reflects radiance of the sunrise. The scene is sincerely painted, and expresses the artist's admiration by a special charm of wild Russian nature.
Various shades of green oils predominate here. A large piece of mother-of-pearl is set into the river to imitate the reflection of the sunrise in its water. Another piece mother-of-pearl creates a sparkle of the sunrise on the sky.
The box's exterior imitates a stone of malachite (green-silver veins and spots are scattered against the dark green background. The interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2008.
