This beautiful summer landscape is a creation of Igor Dunaev. This talented Fedoskino artist is fond of painting Russian nature. He tries to excel the beauty of Russian countryside almost in each of his works. The landscape is masterfully painted in green and light blue oils. This rather monotonous palette is enlivened by a large shimmering piece of mother-of-pearl that is set into the sky. The bottom part of the box's base is decorated with a wide, bright gold band.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2009.
