Description:

The talented Fedoskino painter Ivanov created this breathtaking interpretation of a canvas-on-oil painting originally painted by Karl Brullov (1799 - 1852). It shows a splendid portrait of the Princess Elizaveta Pavlovna Saltykova. This masterpiece was painted in 1848, and can be currently seen in the Russian State Museum in St.-Petersburg.
The portrait is framed with a gold line; two parallel gold lines decorate the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the portrait, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the year of 2009 and the village of Fedoskino. Beautifuly done!
