This beautiful portrait of the praying woman has been painted by Viktor Antonov.
Her noble face is realistically painted, especially her widely opened eyes and complexion. She is dressed in the rich attire that reflects the fashion of medieval epoch. The ruffles of her dress are precise but natural. The interior of the cathedral where the woman is sitting is painted in brown tones. Gold powder is used to paint the window to create an illusion of sunrays penetrating into the cathedral through the window glass.
The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's initials and the year of 2004.
