This box is a splendid creation of Alexey Otryaskin from the village of Fedoskino.
The box depicts a story teller. Various forest beasts are listening to him...
Brown, grey, and partly blue colors are dominate here. One piece of mother-of-pearl that shimmer with blue tones is inlaid within two figures; another piece of mother-of-pearl is also set within the lamp that hangs on the tree.
The edges of the lid and one the box's sides are decorated with attractive gold patterns. The box's exterior is covered with brown oils mixed with gold and silver dust; its interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. It has a hinge from the left of the composition and rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name, the title ("Story teller") and the village of Fedoskino on the box's exterior bottom.
