This small oval box is a creation Lyubov Novoseltseva from the village of Fedoskino. It depicts a pretty Russian peasant woman standing in the autumn forest. She is surrounded with branches of mountain ash covered with bright red, ripe ash berries and fiery, orange leaves and the color of her hair is blended with berries.
The scene is painted in orange and red tones of oils suitable for depiction of the chosen season. Gold metal paint shines through the woman's blouse and produces a sparkle of the leaves and decorative elements of the woman's costume. The box's exterior is beautifully decorated. Gold powder covers brown-red surface of the box's exterior forming an attractive pattern. The box's interior is covered with red lacquer.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2008.
