This large round-shaped box is a creation of S. Dzibuk from the village of Fedoskino. It shows the rendezvous of a pretty peasant girl with a lad. The characters are painted in bright oil paints against the brown background. Gold metal leaf inlay is used to create a sparkle of the girl's basket and the lad's apple as well as to decorate the costumes of the characters with shimmering patterns. Gold metal powder is mixed into the oils to enhance color of the girl's skirt and the lad's collar and belt.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid isn't hinged and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the year of 2000.
