Portraiture is his favorite theme in art, and each of his boxes demonstrates his skill in painting strikingly realistic portraits of different people with diminutive brush strokes. It is very difficult to achieve as this genre requires experience in lacquer miniature art and a special talent of a portrait painter!
The box depicts portraits of two girls brushing a little room dog.
The portrait is framed with a gold line. Two parallel gold lines can be found wrapping around the box's sides.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the left of the portrait, and rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name.
