Talented Fedoskino artist Shavirin Boris is a creator of this charming box. It features the beauty of Russian countryside in winter and a way back home of a lonely peasant to his village home.
The scene is bright and radiant as besides of various shades of light blue oils the artist has used here gold metal paint and a piece of mother-of-peal.A piece of mother-of-pearl is set into the middle part of the scene, so the sky is shining through the trees and makes the box look more appealing!
The scene is framed with a line drawn in white oils. The box exterior imitates the coloring of blue marble (tiny dark blue veins are scattered against the light blue background). The interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer.
The box is constructed of paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed in gold paints with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the year of 2011.
