This beautiful winter scene has been painted by Sergey Kirsanov. Sergey is an expert in painting landscapes. Light rose, grey and white tones of oils suitable for reproduction of a winter scene dominate here. A large piece of mother-of-pearl is set into the whole area of the sky to create a pinkish glow of winter sun. An artist masterfully has painted the shadows of the pine trees on a snow.
The scene is framed with a gold line. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on the flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.
