This interesting box is a creation of talented artist Komogorova Svetlana. In this work the artists has painted an allegorical depiction of a Snowmaiden. Here Snowmaiden is shown as a romantic, young, winged girl among the forest animals and birds.
The composition is painted in bright blue oils. Gold paint shines through the designs of the girl's costume and also through some of the plants. Also gold paint is used to decorate the box's exterior with lustrous, wide bands running along the box's sides.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the left of the scene, and rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name,and Fedoskino .
