This charming small heart-shaped box was painted by Mstera artist S. Smirnova. It depicts a beautiful multicolored butterfly sitting on the tree covered with bright green foliage and big red blossoms. This painting reproduced in bright, fresh tones look very beautifully against the black background. Gold paint is used to detail the butterfly and the tree. It should be mentioned that the butterfly is painted with the anatomical precision, and looks like a real one. The artist extends the painting of the tree on the sides of the box; twisting branches of the tree covered with green foliage look very elegantly. The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work.
