This interesting work has been created by E. Bonokina. In the center of the composition she depicts all members of a big peasant family gathered at the table, and having a dinner. The interior of a peasant house is vividly drawn here. The rest part of the composition depicts the labor working days of the Russian peasants who work in the field, pasture cattle and gather mushrooms in the forest. This box is painted to glorify the hard labor of Russian peasants, and to show the results their work when the family eats the products grown by themselves.
The drawing is colorful and filled with intricate details. Gold and silver paints are used with great intricacy and delicacy to develop the finer elements in the composition. Gold and silver paints are also used to decorate the box's exterior with beautiful ornaments.
The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Palekh, and the year of 2007.
