Yevgeniy Shishkin of Fedoskino is the artist who painted the winter landscape on this box. Here the artist has managed to reproduce the beautiful moment when the sunset glow is reflected on the frozen river. The shining gold paint is used to paint the sunset, its reflection on the river and the haystacks. The rest part of the scene is drawn in blue and white oils. The sharp color contras between gold and bluish white looks fascinating. Almost invisible silver paint help to create a sparkle of the snow.
The scene is framed with a golden line, two parralel gold lines wrap around the boxes's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work.
