Winter sunset is coming, the sky is turning pink and red, traveler in a sledge is rushing to come home before darkness... But the village is very close, and we can see on the background small peasant houses covered with a snow. The light is coming from the small windows and the smoke is coming from the stoves...Silence...
The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a wavy platform. The work is signed with the name of the artist, the title "Going home" and the year of 2012.
