This peaceful early autumn landscape has been painted by Pavel Sladkov.
The river flows along the grassy banks. The trees and bushes covered with yellow and orange leaves look so beautiful! To reproduce realistically a chosen season the artist has used orange and yellow oils. We can see a small footbridge in perspective of the composition. The scene is framed with gold beads.
Pavel Sladkov was born 1936 in the town of Mytishchi. In 1956 the artist graduated from the Fedoskino Art School. His teacher was V.I. Nebosklonov. His works are influenced by such prominent masters as Strakhov, Lipitsky and Chizhov. In free time the artist likes to draw sketches.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.
So pity, that the artist has past us away.
