This gorgeous piece of authentic Russian miniture was created by Fedoskino artist, Alexander Simonov. He has mastered the ability to create breath-taking landscapes that appeal to each and every aspect of our senses. Here we can see winter forest with two wolves.
The scene is painted in different shades of white and gray oils. There is infinite texture in the landscape. The structure of the trees is highly elaborate. A piece of mother-of-pearl in-layed in the skies.
The painting is framed with a golden line, as well as the sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition, and the box is rests flat. The work is signed with the artist name.
