Tatiana Levko of Fedoskino is the artist who painted this fun winter scene!
It features peasant girl and lad making a snowman.Kids are dressed up in typical winter clothes-fur coats. Their faces became a bit rose after being for a while at the winter open air. A boy ,trying to make a snowman more attractive, took his mittens off and put them on "hands" of a snow figure. Snow man has a bucket on his head as a hat and a red carrot as a nose. The surrounding winter landscape is painted in white and gray tones. And we can see the village covered with a snow on the background on the composition.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, village of Fedoskino and the year of 2011.
