This interesting piece of Russian miniature was created by a talented Fedoskino artist Alexander Simonov. He has mastered the ability to create breath-taking landscapes that appeal to each and every aspect of our senses. Memorable art work that delivers us to the location!
The work features the picturesque view of Russian countryside in Winter.
The scene is painted in different shades of white, brown and gray. There is infinite texture in the landscape. The structure of the trees is highly elaborate. A piece of mother-of-pearl in-layed as the base for the whole painting!
The painting is framed with a golden line, as well as the sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache and mother-of-pearl. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while deep red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition, and the box rests on the platform, that goes around the edge of the base. The work is signed with the artist's name at the bottom of the composition.
