This superior Russian lacquer artistry was created by a talented Oleg Yastrebov of Fedoskino. His ability to depict strikingly decorative compositions is second to none. The work is called "Spinner", and features a girl spinning the yam under a big yellow moon.
The scene is painted in bright gray and white paints against the black background.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the left of the composition, and the box rests flat.
Lower part of the composition is framed with a simple ornament.The box is signed by the artist with Fedoskino school,year of 2016, title-Spinner and his sign-a heart (instead of signature).
