Description: This merry scene has been painted by Yashonkova Nataliya from the village of Fedoskino. It features children playing hide-and-seek. The boy depicted in the center found the original place to hide. He masked himself as a man of straw, and nobody can find him.
The scene is painted in the shades of red and blue against the yellow background. Gold metal leaf is used to create the robe of the man of straw, and also to detail the costume of another children. On the backside of the box the artist has painted the sun that has a smiling human face and the tiny dragonfly.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Yellow oils are used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the composition and the box rests on a platform with four legs. Signed with the artist's name and the title ("Hide-and-Seek") the back side of the box.
