This small casket was painted by Sergey Parmeonov of Fedoskino. All five sides of it features the clarity and beauty of a winter landscape.,br> Every scene of each side depicts a frozen river and the surrounding landscape filled with trees and snowdrifts.
Snow-covered trees, with delicate lace-like branches, rolling hills covered with thick snow create harmonious images. The scene is painted mostly in white and gray-bluish tones, which helps to reproduce the atmosphere of a winter day.
Sheets of gold foil are inlayed in the skies and creates the depth and the brilliance of sunrays fighting through dense gray and rose clouds.
The exterior of the box is painted with black lacquer and the interior is painted with red lacquer. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition and the box rests flat. The box is not signed.
