Talented Fedoskino artist Nina Frolova has painted this composition. Nina is a daughter of established Fedoskino Master, Tatiana Frolova. Their skills and techniques are going from generation to generation.
Nina Frolova loves Russian nature and in each of her brilliant boxes shows her admiration aroused by the views of Russian countryside.
The box depicts a dull winter day. The snowdrifts are deep and fluffy. Peasants are coming out and back to their warm, cozy wooden houses where they can warm themselves near a stove. In the center of the composition we can see a a small wooden bridge over a frozen river. A woman caring two buckles of water on the carry-yoke is coming to a bridge from the left side. In the forground we can a handsome deer with large branching horns that came out of the forest.
The landscape is painted in dark blue, gray, green and white tones of oils that successfully conveys the mood of a beautiful winter day .The image is very subtle and detailed! Quality of the painting is very high!
The box's exterior is covered with black lacquers while the interior is covered with red lacquer.
The painting is framed with a gold line. The sides of the box are decorated with two parallel gold lines, one thicker than the other.
The box is made out of paper-mache. The lid is hinged, and rests on a platform with four legs. The work is signed with the name of the artist, Fedoskino, and the year of 2015.
