This beautiful landscape scene has been painted by talented Fedoskino artist Parmeonov Sergey.
It shows an Oak tree with brown and yellow leaves. To reproduce a chosen season realistically the artist has used several sheets of gold under the leaves of the tree. These sheets were glued on the sunface of a box and then the artist has made the painting over them. Using this technique, the artist has additionally achieved the radiance of the leaves of the tree, which is especially noticeable when you hold the lid of the box in hands and turn it at different angles!
The scene is framed with gold line; the sides of the box are decorated with two parallel lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is not hinged, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name in the right corner of composition.
