This gorgeous piece of authentic Russian miniature was created by well-established Fedoskino artist Alexander Simonov. He has mastered the ability to create breath-taking landscapes that appeal to each and every aspect of our senses. Memorable art work that delivers us to location!
The work features the picturesque view of Russian countryside in Spring time. Here we can see an interesting moment- on the right bank of the river the snow is already melted, yellow grass from the previous year appared, while on the left bank there is still snow.
The scene is painted in different shades of green, brown and gray. There is infinite texture in the landscape. The structure of the trees and grass stalks are highly elaborate. A piece of mother-of-pearl in-layed in the sky over the forest in the middle of the composition.
The painting is framed with a golden line, and the sides of the box are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while deep red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist name and dated (2016) at the bottom of the composition in gray oils.
