Margarita Belova is an exceptional talent behind this interesting composition.
Here the artist depicts the young girl screaming in the forest.The work has an unusual title-Au. This word is used in Russia to hail people in the forest to avoid getting lost and to have an opportunity to find each other easily.
Blue and brown tones of oils are predominated here.
The painting in oval is framed with gold and silver scan patterns (made of tiny shapes hand punched from gold metal sheets, and then glued to the box manually). The edges of the lid are also decorated with similar but golden scan pattern.
The lid's exterior is covered with a mixture of violet lacquer with silver dust. The interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer.The sides of the box are painted with the mixture of the colors, that imitates a dark marble.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, title and the village of Fedoskino.
