Description: This elegantly shaped box is a creation of the talented Fedoskino painter, Lubov Krasnoslobodtseva. It depicts a couple Jewish guys amusing themselves with a chess game. One of them is smoking a cigarette, the other is just leaned his head on his arm while thinking.
Their game takes place in the room, which reminds a living room.
The scene is framed with a gold line, the sides of the box are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The scene is painted in darker tones of figures painted against the light green background, but the predominance is given to greens and blues. The box's exterior is traditionally covered with black lacquer. The box's interior is covered with red lacquer.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name and the village of Fedoskino.
