Description: This classical scene of St. Basil's Cathedral located in the center of capitol of Russia was painted by the well-known Fedoskino Master,Boris Shavirin.
The painting is made in golden paint over the bright blue background. Even having no mother-of-pearl, it shows the professionalism of an artist, which is very high! Details are amasing!
Painting such objects is traditional for Russian lacquer miniature art and very popular among modern artists.
The box shows a gem of ancient Russian architecture situated on the Red Square! St. Basil's Cathedral has long been a symbol of Russia. It was built by order of Ivan the Terrible in 1561 to commemorate to the victory over Kazan and Astrakhan Khanate. The second name of this magnificent building is the Pokrovsky Cathedral.
The scene is outlined with gold band. The box's sides are decorated with the gold ornamentation that consist of an innumerable number of scrolls.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge to the left from the scene, and rests on a the four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, 2020 and Fedoskino.
