This colorful lacquer box was painted by a talented Kholui artist, Gurileova Aleona.
It shows a beautiful girl holds a chick in her hand.
Gold is used to decorated the box's exterior with intricate ornaments. The painting is framed with it, same as the sides.
The box is made of paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge has been fastened to the top of the composition and the box rests on wavy platform with six legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Kholui and title.
