This interesting box is a creation of Yuriy Sarkov.
It shows Summer Landscape.The feauture of this box is that most of the landscape scenes are painted in Fedoskino in oils, and this one painted in Kholui in tempera paints.
The composition is framed with golden dot ornament, the rest of the lid is decorated with gold leafy patterns. Similar ornamentation can be found wrapping around the box's sides.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged, and the box rests on a flat bottom. At the bottom of the composition the artist writes Kholui, the title "Landscape", and signs his name.
