Description: This attractive piece was created by Yuriy Zhigalov of Mstera. Inspired by Mstera master Yevgeniy Yurin, Zhigalov displays ability which is skillful as well as passionate. This artist specializes in ornamental and floral compositions while using soft tones with realistic floral colors. Skill and obvious knowledge are all attributes found in Yurin's work.
The box is elegantly designed. In the center there is a bouquet of wild flowers painted against light brown background. The flowers are painted in soft tempera paints and richly detailed with gold paints. This scene is framed with an intricate gold floral pattern. More complex patterns dominated by large beautiful daisies decorate the edges of the lid. The artist does not limit himself to decorating only the lid. He creates equally intricate and charming floral decorations around the sides of the box.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid isn't hinged, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The artist wrote in gold his name, Mstera, and the following verse on the box's exterior bottom: "I've fallen in love for the first time in my love... Wild flowers, tell me what I shall do?"
