Talented family duet of Olga and Vadim Parilovs from the village of Palekh has painted this religious scene of Transfiguration.
The painting is very interesting, made in monochrome technique, which requires additional skills, as the shadows and penumbra of faces and clothes are also painted in gold. This work is very detailed!
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is not hinged , and the box rests on three small round legs.
The work is signed with the artist's family name and the village of Palekh.
