This original form half-sphere top casket was painted on a Hunting theme by a family tandem of the Konovalovs, Konstantine and Valentina.
Each side of the casket shows a scene with a different winter hunting- hunt on wild boar, Hares or Elk.
The casket is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the piece. The sides of the chest are decorated with rich gold ornamentaion.
These casket has hinge from a top of the paintings and a chest rests on four legs. It is signed with the artist's names and village of Palekh.
