Description: This interesting Palekh composition has been painted by a family tandem, Olga and Sergey Terentievs.
It shows winter outdoor activity in Russian countryside. The whole family went out and father is putting on the trees the bird feeders. A couple of children fill up the feeders with bird food. We can find several chickadees and bullfinches on this composition.
With this composition the Terentievs continue the series of the works related with village outdoor activity possibly have taken place in Palekh, where they resides.
The drawing is colorful and filled with intricate details. Bright red, orange, yellow, and white color patches seem to be brighter against the black background. The details are added with gold and silver paints.
The box is constructed from paper-mache.
Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior.
The comosition is framed with thick golden dots on the edges of the lid. The sides of the box are decorated with very intricate pattern of gold and silver paint.
The box has a hinge above the composition and rests on four legs.
The work is signed with the artist's name and the village of Palekh.
