This beautiful autumn landscape has been painted by Funtusova E. from the village of Fedoskino. Here she depicts the picturesque lakeside. The palette is based on contrast colors. Yellow and orange tones that have been used to depict dry grass and foliage of the trees look very beautiful against blue tones of the sky. The artist has managed to capture a rare moment of nature and convey the viewer her admiration and wonder aroused by this scene.
An elegant string of gold patterns frame the composition, whereas the sides of the box are decorated with more complex gold floral patterns accented with gray oils.
The exterior of the box is covered with gray oil paints. On the box's sides and the lid's edges this gray exterior is beautifully touched with subtle white, red and blue tones. The interior of the box is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the bottom is flat. The work is singed with the artist's name and the village of Fedoskino.
