Description:

This beautiful piece of authentic Russian artistry was created by the talented Irina Butsinskaya of Fedoskino. Exceptional technique and masterful skill. This work is as entrancing as it is traditional.
There is always something involved in a portrait. It could be the time of day, the clothing of the person composed or perhaps a particular season. That involved shapes the mood of the portrait. Here, it is the eyes. The gorgeous eyes composed with an ethereal elegance. The artist has depicted this feeling with the application of oil-based paint. Compounds and minerals shaped and crafted into something breathtaking. The girl composed hopes beyond hope to be someday reunited with the love she left just a few years past. Years that seem like decades. The skin tone is vividly realistic. One can almost detect a blink in those eyes at first glance. A truly human composition.
The box is constructed from paper-mache made in the village of Fedoskino. An inlay of mother-of-pearl creates the magic shine coming from within the powder blue bow worn upon the girl's dress. The curls of her hair and the ruffles in her dress are intensely vivid. Irina Butsinskaya uses a unique blend of deep maple brown and deep green oils in order to create the appearance of shadows behind the girl. Talent laden artistry. Butsinskaya is becoming more and more recognizable as a devout portrait composer.
Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer is used to complete the interior of the box. Upon completion of the piece the artist writes her name, the village name of Fedoskino and the year of 2005 of which the piece was finished on the bottom of the composition.
