This beautiful box was created by A. Senitsky from the village of Fedoskino. It shows the lad liberating white pigeons. Near him the artist depicts the charming small dog.
The scene is mostly painted in white and blue tones that fit excellently for reproduction of a winter landscape. The upper wing of the pigeon hovering at the top of the composition, and the lad's right leg dressed in "valenki" (footwear of Russian peasants) are three dimensional; they also extend beyond the borders of the composition.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the composition, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, the village of Fedoskino, and the year of 2005.
