This summer landscape is painted by Dunaev from the village of Fedoskino. It features a fisherman fishing on the bank of a forest lake.
The scene is painted in rather dark green and brown tones. Mother-of-pearl is inlaid in the portion of the lake to create reflection of the sunrays.
The scene is framed with tiny gold beads.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition. The box rests on a small platform. It is signed and dated (2006) by the artist at the bottom of the composition in white oil paints.
