Burmistrova Larisa is a talent from the village of Fedoskino who an admirer of Russian ballet, and very often depicts the famous ballet dancers in her works. This box features Ekaterina Maximova and Vladimir Vasiliev performing their roles of Prince Zigfrid and Odetta in the classical ballet "Swan Lake".
The expressive gestures and poses of the dancers are rendered here splendidly. Absolute absorption in their roles, elated expression on their noble faces, plasticity of their trained bodies strike the artist's imagination. By means of a brush and paints he expresses his admiration, and inspires this feeling in the viewer.
The figures of dancers stand out against the dark blue background. The costume of Vladimir Vasiliev is detailed with gold paint. Brilliant work!
Originally shaped box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer covers its exterior and red lacquer covers its interior. A hinge is fastened from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom.
