Description: This interesting work is a creation of Dmitriy Tipyakov from the village of Fedoskino. It shows a small village located at the foot of the mountain, and infinity of the space that reveals the black night sky. Called "New Worlds", it reflects the artist's philosophic thoughts on how small our small planet is in comparison with the boundless universe; and how many new worlds may be found in the outer space. Anyone thought about the same while contemplating the night sky studded with myriads of stars.
The structure of the composition is built on size contrasts. The village seems to be tiny in comparison with the grandeur of the mountains; and the mountains are diminutive in comparison with the space infinity. The artist painted some of the planets bigger than we can see from the Earth. He did it to accentuate the real size of faraway stars and planets. So, here he managed to mix fantasy with reality, and it helped him to create such an unusual and beautiful scene.
The composition is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed, titled and dated (2006) by the artist.
