This thrilling summer landscape has been painted by Mishina E. from the village of Fedoskino. It depicts a woman walking along the river. She has attended morning service at the monastery depicted in the background, and now she is on her way home.
The landscape is painted in the realistic style in blue, green and brown oils. Mother-of-pearl shines through the sky and the river filling the scene with a magic glow.
The scene is framed with a gold line.
The box's exterior (except the exterior bottom) imitates the coloring of turquoise, - it is covered with light blue paint and then studded with black blurry spots. The box's exterior bottom is left black. For additional decoration the whole surface of the box's exterior is covered with bright gold dust. The interior is traditionally red.
The box is made out of paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box sits flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, and the year of 2006.
