This thrilling landscape is a creation of A. Simonov from the village of Fedoskino. It shows the deer that has come to the river at night to drink water. The riverbank covered with dense vegetation is brightly illuminated by the full moon. It's silence. Nature rests after a long, hot, sunny day.
The scene is painted in rather dark blue and green oils as the action takes place at night. Mother-of-pearl creates brilliance of the moon, and helps to reproduce the reflection of moonlight on the water.
The scene is framed with a gold line. Two parallel gold lines can be found wrapping around the box's sides.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name, the title ("Silence") and the year of 2006.
