This elegant box that features a beautiful lady who poses for an artist lying on the balcony is a creation of Mishin. In the background the artist has painted the roofs of the houses as a part of a view that can be seen from the balcony. The palette is based on contrast crimson-pink and grey bluish tones. The balcony railing is painted in lustrous gold paint.
The scene is framed with a gold line. Two parallel gold lines decorate the box's sides. The black lacquered exterior of the box is decorated with blue blurry spots and bright silver veins. The interior is traditionally red. On the box's interior bottom a small piece of mother-of-pearl is glued. A small shell is attached in the middle of the box's body for ease of opening.
The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the title ("On the Balcony").
