Description: This picturesque view of the Moscow Kremlin has been painted by Alexander Maslov, the brother of Vladislav Maslov.
In the foreground we can see the Archangel Cathedral and the Cathedral of the Annunciation while in the far background the Temple of Christ the Savior is depicted. White, grey, and light blue tones of oils help the artist to reproduce the atmosphere of a dull winter day. Gold paint is used to detail the architecture, and to create a sparkle of the domes of the cathedrals. Silver paint highlights the water of the Moskva River drawn in the left part of the composition as well as some of the domes.
The scene is framed with a gold line; two parallel gold lines wrap around the box's sides.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2008.
