This beautiful box was painted by Fedoskino Artist Julia Golubeonkova. Here the artist depicts a quiet winter evening in the countryside. The small church rises above cozy peasant houses. Smoke goes up chimneys.
Gold metal powder creates subtle gradations of colors on the sky. Aluminum powder is used to paint smoke coming out of chimneys. Gold metal foil shines through the haystacks, and the fence located in the nearest foreground, creating a beautiful contrast to the lilac-blue tones of the landscape.
The scene is framed with a golden line.
The exterior of the box is black and the interior is traditionally red.
